Well done the brave Harriers who took part in the Chevy Chase, organised by Wooler Running Club on Saturday 7th July. Due to torrential rain during the morning falling on already sodden ground and swelling the already full burns the decision was taken to shorten the 20 mile race to about 15 miles, missing out the tops of Cheviot and Hedgehope. There were some excellent performances by Harriers nonetheless, including Bruce CROMBIE finishing in 7th as the first local runner with Geoff CAMPBELL not far behind. It was also nice to see Jo GASCOIGNE-OWENS and David LOWE coming back from recent injuries to compete in the event. Harriers results:
7-Bruce CROMBIE 2.10.01
10-Geoff CAMPBELL 2.12.10
29-Mike TELFER 2.27.46 (representing Northumberland Fell Runners)
32-Andy SQUIRES 2.29.09
52-David LOWE 2.45.23
59-Stuart MORRIS 2.51.27
60-Jo GASCOIGNE-OWENS 2.51.29
