Formed soon after the first
Great North Run, and affiliated to the AAA in December 1983, this club is
based in south-east Northumberland at Blyth Sports
Centre. The club has approximately 130 members and is
primarily involved with Road Running it meets at the Sports Centre on Monday
and Wednesday evenings at 18:45, and on Sunday mornings at 9:00am for the
obligatory long run. |

Morpeth Harriers
is the North East of England's leading Road, Cross Country and Track and
Field Athletics club and the only North East club to ever compete in the
British Athletics League.
The club is based
in the rural Northumberland town of Morpeth on Mitford Road.
The clubhouse is next to Morpeth Rugby Club and they currently have over 300
members specialising in various athletic disciplines.

Low Fell Running Club was formed relatively recently in
1985 and has a small and enthusiastic group of runners, with both men and women
represented. As a member you can run just to keep fit and at the same time enjoy
the company of others while running. Or, as others do, enter races. The
choice is yours.

Alnwick Tri was
formed following the success of the first triathlon in September 2004 at the
Willowburn Sports Centre. It quickly became the largest triathlon club in
Northumberland. |

Wooler Running
Club was formed by accident in the late nineties,
and became affiliated to the EA in 2002. The club has about 20 active
members as well as some occasional runners and rather a lot of social
members. The club does have satellite units as far a field
as Norway, Canada and Cheshire. Members are united by their love of
running and a passion for the hills and countryside of Northumberland.
Many of our members enjoy walking and biking as well as running.
Although well known for our high levels of conversational output whilst
training and spontaneous partying, many of us do enter competitive
events and challenges. |

Derwentside Athletic Club is a Nationally Accredited Club, who have
achieved Clubmark Status, providing training, coaching and
competition for anyone aged 8 years upwards. New members are always
welcome regardless of ability gender or ethnic background. |

The Coastal Run uses footpaths and beaches within the area of

50 years ago that the Northumberland Coast was designated as an Area of
