Elswick Good Friday Relays

Elswick Harriers hosted their excellent Good Friday Relays on 26th March at the Newburn Riverside Business Park. The men were split into teams of 4 whilst the women were in teams of 3, with each member running a very flat 2.2 mile leg. There were some very fast times from our contingent, meaning some decent overall team placings.

The pick of the teams was the Veteran Female trio of Diana WEIGHTMAN, Alex REED and Tracey SAMPLE who finished 13th of the 36 complete teams in that category.

We entered 1 Senior Mens team, for runners under 35 years of age, and again the foursome did very well by finishing 26th of the 55 teams. All 4 members ran very well with Dan LENG running the fastest of all our members on the day, completing his 2.2 miles in 12.16. However Dean STACKHOUSE, Dominic HARRIS and Richard JOHNSON all contributed to the decent finishing position.

Last but by no means least the Veteran Male second string team finished 34th. Gary HALL, fresh from a spell out, ran an excellent first leg of 13.20. He handed on to Andy STEPHENSON, then Mark DOCTOR and finally Micky Aiston.
