There were a whole host of excellent performances at the Druridge Bay Parkrun on the morning of Saturday 6th February. 2nd finisher on the day and now the holder of the fastest 5k by a Harrier so far this year was Steve CARRAGHER. Steve clocked an impressive 17.31 and finished just over half a minute clear of 3rd placed Phil HEMSLEY. However Phils brilliant 18.02 saw him smash the male 50 category course record and gave him a superb 83.83% WAVA score. This was a course pb for Phil and he now sits 5th on the list of all time best WAVA scores at the event, just behind Lesley MILLER and in front of Peter GREY. Phil is also in a great position to win the Robert Brown Shield at the end of the year thanks to this superb WAVA score.
