Blyth Sands Race/Druridge Bay Parkrun/Workington Parkrun/Durham Parkrun/Guildford Parkrun/Gateshead Parkrun/Fulham Palace Parkrun

6 Harriers took part in the Blyth RC organised Blyth Sands Race on Sunday 6th December. This annual 5 mile event which is on the beach from Blyth to Seaton Sluice and back again, sees runners handicapped by age and sex to give everyone a decent chance of winning. There were some very good performances not least from Gary HALL who finished 22nd overall and was winner of the male 45 category! Unfortunately Nick ARMSTRONG and Stuary BRUCE are missing from the results!

22-Gary HALL 36.47

58-Stephen COWELL 40.17

70-Micky AISTON 41.54

107-Steve STUDLEY 46.37

132-Mark HUME 58.48

The previous day there was success for 2 Harriers at the Druridge Bay Parkrun as our duo of Adam FLETCHER and Justine NORMAN were 1st male and female finishers! On a very windy morning Adam was well clear of the 2nd placed runner finishing in 18.46 which was a very good time considering the weather. Nick ARMSTRONG battled the elements to finish 5th and 1st in his age category, on a day when there were no pbs from anyone in the 67 strong field. Results:

1-Adam FLETCHER 18.46 (78.60%)

5-Nick ARMSTRONG 22.02 (65.89%)

12-Justine NORMAN 24.04 (65.37%)

Elsewhere that morning Gay and Richard EASTOE were tackling the Workington Parkrun in poor conditions. Again in a much smaller field than usual both were age category winners, with Gay finishing as 3rd female. Dominic HARRIS was 14th at Durham, where Kirsty STEED also ran, whilst Mark JEFFRIES is coming back to form again after injury by putting in a good show at Guildford. Also down south Rachel McCOY was in action at the Fulham Palace Parkrun and Micky AISTON competed at Gateshead. Results:
