Town Moor Memorial 10k and Junior Races/Helvellyn and Ullswater Dirty Double/Druridge Bay Parkrun/Cottesloe Parkrun/Inverness Parkrun/Gibside Parkrun/Pollok Parkrun/Keswick Parkrun/Ormskirk Parkrun

On a very wet and blustery morning on the Town Moor, 6 Harriers took part in the Heaton Harriers organised Town Moor Memorial 10k on Sunday 8th November. First of the sextet was Ella BROWN who ran a brilliant 38.07, her fastest 10k of 2015, eclipsing her previous best at the Les Allcorn 10k on May. The time was enough to see her finish 5th female and take home female 40 prize! Another prize winner was Peter GREY, as he ran 38.56 to win the male 55 category. There were also good runs by the other 4 male Harriers particularly by Dominic HARRIS who smashed his 10k pb to dip under 40 minutes for the first time.

The previous day a huge number of Harriers took part in 7 different parkruns from as near as Druridge Bay to as far away as Western Australia! Amongst these performances there were age category wins for Steve COWELL (male 50) and Rosie HARRIS (female 50) at Druridge Bay, whilst Gay EASTOE was successful in the female 60 category at Inverness. There were also 2 2nd placed finishers for female Harriers, Karen KELLY at Druridge Bay and Rachel McCOY at the Cottesloe Parkrun in Perth, Australia! Well done to everyone for flying the Alnwick flag far and wide.

Finally for the weekend 5 Harriers took part in the Helvellyn 15k Trail Challenge on Saturday, part of the Dirty Double, the final 2 races of the Lakeland Trail Race 2015 series. Massive congratulations to the 5 hardy Harriers who have racked up some miles this year travelling to and from the Lakes to take part in the series! They, as well as Adam FLETCHER and Lorna STEPHENSON, also took part in the Ullswater races the following day. Most of the times appear to be missing for the Sunday races, however Adam finished an excellent 3rd in a race reduced to 9k due to dreadful weather conditions and issues with the ferry across the lake! The results we have are:
