Closer to home Robert and Lorna STEPHENSON took part at Whitley Bay, whilst Gay and Richard EASTOE ran at Penrith where Gay won her female 60 age group.

Finally many many congratulations to ultra runner Shelley COATES for her latest superb achievement. On Saturday Shelley tackled the 114km Sandstone Way Trail Race. Not only that but she finished the race from Berwick to Rothbury in 18 hours 9 minutes, to pick up the 2nd female prize! Shelley would like to thanks a whole host of people for helping out and encouraging her during the many dark moments, particularly Alex REED, Dave HINDMARSH, Pauline AITCHISON and Carol DAVISON!
