There was success for one of the years in-form Harriers, Lesley MILLER, at the Druridge Bay Parkrun on Saturday 15th August. Lesley, running from the female 55 category, was 1st female finisher in a splendid 22.04, 1 second outside her course pb. She has recently celebrated her birthday and another year older means an improvement on her WAVA score, thus she has extended her lead at the top of the 2015 Grand Prix standings even further! Lesley has the 4th best WAVA score in the events history and is closing in on winning the Robert Brown Shield, the trophy presented to the Harrier with the best WAVA score at Druridge Bay. In what was a good day for our females Jenny BOLAM was 2nd finisher in 23.58, whilst Rachel McCOY was 4th in a course pb of 24.37. New member Rosie HARRIS was 1st in the female 5o category, also in a course pb.
1st Harrier across the line, however, was James BOLAM in 3rd place clocking 18.48. Eddie LONGSTAFF was next just dipping under 20 minutes to finish 9th, whilst further back Mark HUME was the winner of the male 70 category.

Over at Workington Gay EASTOE was an age category winner once again, whilst down at Whitley Bay Stuart EABORN improved on last weeks time by almost a minute.

31-Gay EASTOE 25.22
120-Stuart EABORN 24.48
289-Kirsty STEAD 44.59
Later on that day Dave COATES took part in the Gateshead Trail 10k and finished a good 338th of just over 1000 runners, in 50.38.
The following day one of a number of our improving runners, Dominic HARRIS, was in action in the Tyne Bridge Harriers organised Exhibition Park 5k on the Town Moor. Dominic knocked 4 seconds off his previous 5k best which was set at the South Shields Parkrun in late June, to finish 56th in this high class field in 19.26.
Finally another of our younger improvers, Richard JOHNSON, took part in the Northumberland Coast Half Marathon as part of a 20 mile training run. The course starts on Alnmouth beach before heading along the coastal paths to Craster, before the runners turn around and run back. Despite his 7 mile warm up Richard was a very good 9th of the 45 finishers in 1.43.50, and remains firmly on course for a good time at the Kielder Marathon in the autumn! Also taking part in the race was John ROSS, his 166th half marathon! John finished in 34th place posting 2.21.28.
