Blaydon Race

Glorious sunny weather conditions greeted the thousands of runners taking part in the Blaydon Race on Tuesday 9th June. A decent number of Harriers took part in the 5.75 mile race from Newcastle to Blaydon, with some excellent times from some. First Harrier to complete and 11th female overall was Jo GASCOIGNE-OWENS. Jo finished in a brilliant 33.48 (chip time). Next woman home was Pauline AITCHISON, who was very pleased with her 43.38. Unbelievably just days after taking part in a gruelling Lake District trail marathon Morag DONOGHUE ran very well to finish in 46.25, whilst fellow marathoner Carol DAVISON was slightly further back. For the men Richard JOHNSON was 1st home in 36.02, not far ahead of Rob ENSER. Dave HINDMARSH was next, pipping Gary COWELL and Mark DOUGLAS after a tight tussle. Hopefully some photos from a brilliant race will be found soon and will be added here asap. Results:
