John ROSS wasn’t the only Harrier racing in the United States at the weekend as another 4 were battling the heat in Nevada (as you do). On the same weekend that some of us were racing at Wrekenton taking in the sights of dumped mattresses, litter and dog mess Ian SIMON, Tracey SAMPLE, Jock BOLAM and Sue BOLAM were enjoying the 6 Tunnels To Hoover Dam Run, taking in the sights of the Colorado River, Lake Mead and Hoover Dam! Whatsmore the club even tasted success in the Half Marathon Relay event with Ian and Tracey taking first place, with Sue and Jock in 2nd!
Rest assured we’ll be speaking to Treasurer Cris ATWELL about a massively subsidised club trip here in 2016!
Finally for the weekend Mike TELFER was once again battling mud trenches, scree slopes and darkness in the Rat Race organised Mighty Deerstalker 5k event at Traquair House, Peeblesshire. Mike has previously won this event, though on this occasion could only manage 5th of the 369 competitors. An excellent performance nonetheless!
