Druridge Bay Parkrun/Newcastle Parkrun/Workington Parkrun/Derwentwater 10

8 Harriers took part in the 13th Druridge Bay Parkrun on Saturday 1st November, an event which saw Daniel LENG make his course debut. Dan has run the fastest 10k and half marathon by a Harrier this year, though today he was unable to add the 5k distance to this list. He did perform well however finishing 2nd overall, 11 seconds ahead of previous winner Lee CUTHBERTSON. Mark MILLER put in another consistent performance to finish 6th, whilst Eddie LONGSTAFF continued his journey back to full fitness after injury. Amongst the other Harriers taking part Tracey SAMPLE was 3rd lady to finish, whilst John FAIRBAIRN had his first race as a Harrier for years. In doing so he broke the male 70 course record! Results:

Ken HODSON-Druridge Bay Parkrun 1st NovemberElsewhere that morning Sarah GRAY travelled down to the Town Moor to take part in the Newcastle Parkrun. Sarah, one of the most improved females in the club this year, broke her course record to clock 20.34 (71.96%). She was 64th overall of the 552 finishers, and was 5th female home. Meanwhile over at the Workington Parkrun Gay and Richard EASTOE both won the 60 age categories. Gay was 25th in 24.43 (78.49%), whilst Richard was 26th in 24.44 (64.82%).

The following day Gay and Richard EASTOE were back in action in the Derwentwater 10, in Keswick. The pair ran together and finished this undulating race in 292nd and 293rd, with Gay finishing in 1.28.26 and Richard a second back.
