Well done to all who took part in another successful Alnwick Harriers Northumberland Coastal Run today. Thanks to the marshals, supporters and sponsors, particulary Eclipse Translations, Motorcare (Alnwick) Ltd, Start Fitness, Northumbria Water, Alnmouth Golf Club and Hindmarsh Hall. We’d like to apologise to all those taking part in the race who had issues with their finishing times and positions. We used an independent company to deal with the results, and will ensure that we have no such issues next year. Hopefully these problems didn’t spoil your day!

Congratulations to Morpeth’s Ian HARDING who followed up his success in Alnwick Harriers’ Les Allcorn 10k in May by winning today’s Coastal Run. Ian finished ahead of last years winner James BUIS of Heaton Harriers. Third male was the 2005 winner Birtley AC’s Darren PURVIS. Morpeth Harriers won the male team trophy.
Morpeth Harriers were also successful in the womens race with Jane MOONEY winning the title. Second was Havering Mayesbrook’s Deborah APPLETON the 2009 winner and third was Keighley and Craven’s Amy GREEN. Morpeth also took the womens team title.
Geoff CAMPBELL was the first Alnwick male home, finishing in 19th place. Mark MILLER was 23rd and David HENDERSON was third Harrier to finish in 81st place. Jo GASCOIGNE-OWENS was the 9th female and first female Harrier to finish, followed by Lisa SUTTON and Caroline FINDLAY.
