Newcastle Parkrun/Northampton Parkrun/St Albans Parkrun/Garstang 10k

There were some brilliant results by Harriers at the Parkrun’s on Saturday 11th January, notably by Phil HEMSLEY at Newcastle. Phil, taking part in his first Parkrun, was 3rd overall and 1st in the male 50 category, clocking 17.58 and a WAVA score of 82.75%! He even beat Bruce CROMBIE into 5th, though there was some consolation for Bruce who won the male 40 category. There was also a top 50 finish for Rob ENSER, whilst Phil’s and Rob’s daughters also took part in the event. Results:

3-Phil HEMSLEY 17.58 (82.75%)

5-Bruce CROMBIE 18.14 (75.41%)

44-Rob ENSER 23.19 (58.97%)

129-Sophie ENSER 31.16 (51.07%)

130-Ella HEMSLEY 31.22 (50.90%)

At Northampton Mark JEFFERIES ran under 19 minutes for the first time, knocking another 10 seconds off his pb. Result:

8-Mark JEFFERIES 18.57 (69.22%)

Finally Ruth DOCTOR took part in the St Albans Parkrun. Due to recent wet weather the fast and flat 3 lap course round the lake at Verulamium Park was out of bounds, meaning that Ruth splodged round a largely off road, muddy course.

102-Ruth DOCTOR 26.42 (57.30%)

On Sunday 12th January Gay and Richard EASTOE were in action in Lancashire, in the Garstang 10k. The pair ran together to finish 367th and 368th in 56.11.
