George Ogle Memorial Race/Lambfoot Loop 10k/Jesmond Dene Handicap Race 2

8 Harriers were in action in the latest 2013 Grand Prix race on Wednesday 29th May, the George Ogle Memorial Race. This race is a 6 mile multi terrain trail race in the Derwent Valley, starting and finishing at Swalwell Cricket Club. The mix of road, track, grass, footpaths and one or two short, sharp climbs actually came in at nearer to 5.75 miles hence the quick times! First Harrier to finish was Bruce CROMBIE who was 7th overall of the 134 runners. Peter GREY was next, followed by Dave HINDMARSH who was taking time out of his day job of “Superhero”. For the ladies the Lisa WILLIAMS just pipped Sue BOLAM, whilst brave Ruth DOCTOR was the other female Harrier taking part just a few days after a near death experience in the River Aln. Results:

The previous day Gay and Richard EASTOE improved on their 2012 times in the Derwent AC organised Lambfoot Loop 10k in Cockermouth. The pair crossed the line in 67th and 68th places in 56.44, improving by over 3 minutes.

On Monday 27th May John ROSS was taking part in his 2nd race in 2 days, the 2nd of the Jesmond Dene Handicap Race series. John finished the 5k course in 23.59, coming in a very good 11th overall due to his age handicap. Mark HUME was also taking part finishing 38th of the 45 runners thanks to his 32.01 and his male 65 age catoegory handicap.
