Well done to the 23 Harriers who took part in the Blyth Valley 10k on Sunday 7th April, the latest of our 2013 Grand Prix races. The headline grabber was undoubtedly Jo GASCOIGNE-OWENS who was 3rd female overall in 37.48 smashing another long-standing club record in the process! Bruce CROMBIE was first Harrier across the line in a superb time of 35.04, another pb. 16 year old Harrier Daniel LENG was second Harrier to finish in a fantastic 36.56, whilst Peter GREY was 3rd Alnwick male winning the male 55 category! 2nd and 3rd female Harriers, in a close battle, were Jackie MOSCROP and Sarah SYERS.

The same day Mark DOCTOR was in action in the Buttermere Trail Race in the Lake District. The picturesque and undulating 10 mile route started in Buttermere village, before skirting part of Buttermere lake and the whole of Crummock Water. Mark was 65th of the 172 runners in 1.28.50, getting sunburnt in the balmy 12 degrees!
The previous day Danny RICHARDSON scored a Parkrun pb at Whitley Bay. Danny was a fine 2nd in the 5k race, finishing in 18.30 (70.90%).
Meanwhile over at the Newcastle Parkrun Charlotte BASTON also ran a pb, following up her excellent 10k debut in the North Tyneside 10k the previous week. Results:
