Newcastle Parkrun/St Albans Parkrun/Powburn Show Race/Great Hetha Challenge/Regents Park 10k

Four Harriers took part in the Newcastle Parkrun on Saturday 4th August, all running well particularly John ROSS who ran a Parkrun pb. Harriers results:

61-John ROSS 21.42

82-Phil LEE 23.06

94-Phil BASTON 23.24

140-Charlotte BASTON 25.22

A couple of hundred miles further south Mike TELFER and son Ollie took part in the St Albans Parkrun. Mike, more used to fell races and ridiculous distance races, ran well finishing 4th on his Parkrun debut in 19.25 winning the male 40 category. Ollie also ran well finishing in 28.15 in 71st place.

On the same day Bruce CROMBIE took part in the Powburn Show Race, finishing the 6k race 4th and retaining the 1st local trophy. Mark HUME also took part finishing 52nd. The following day Bruce won the Great Hetha Challenge in the College Valley, run over a distance of approximately 3.5 miles, winning a bottle of wine and a block of cheese in the process.

Finally Mark DOCTOR took part in the Regents Park 10k, in monsoon like conditions, on Sunday 5th August. The race is a 3 lap course run in the shadow of London Zoo, and is part of a 6 race series run throughout the summer. Mark crossed the line 150th of the 672 finishers in 44.51.
