4 Harriers warmed up for next weeks Newcastle Parkrun Grand Prix event by taking part in the 5k event at Exhibition Park on Saturday 10th March. After a ding dong battle Mike “Grandad” HENRY pipped Phil LEE to the line with a Usain Bolt style sprint (so i’m told), thus winning the over 60 category. Kim BRONZE also secured a course pb. Meanwhile Mark DOCTOR took part in the Silverstone Half Marathon, a very popular pre London Marathon event, the following day. Mark motored through the first couple of miles, but couldn’t find fifth gear, running out of fuel towards the end (sorry, that’s dreadful) to finish in a disappointing 1.41.19. Mark was 692nd of the 6391 finishers.
