Dracula Night Run

Tracey Sample and Ian Simpson were in Transylvania for the Dracula Night Run – a 6.2k woodland race.

Junior Round-up – North East Grand Prix

Last Wednesday evening at Monkton Stadium, Jarrow, the warm sunny night provided excellent conditions for the 3rd North East Grand Prix athletics match.

In the throwing events, Finlay Telfer managed an excellent personal best of 7.73m, Talia Thompson (U15) won her competition with another AAA’s grade 1 throw of 10.37m and Leila Thompson was runner-up with 7.20m.

In the javelin, Leila made another fantastic throw of 24.98m achieving her first grade 1 standard throw to win the competition. Leila is now ranked number 1 in the North East of England. Talia also threw well finishing as runner-up in the U15 event. Oscar Chisholm in his second competition managed an encouraging personal best throw.

On the track Ollie Telfer ran an excellent personal best time of 4:43s in the mile, to set a new club record.

Excellent conditions provided superb results for all the athletes. Halfway through the series Talia currently leads the overall Grand Prix competition.
