NEHL Farringdon

6 female Harriers took part in the second of the North East Harrier League cross country fixtures at Farringdon on Saturday 29th October. Sarah CHRISTIE followed on from her superb performance in the recent Loch Ness Marathon by finishing 7th in 24.46. Vee POLLOCK was 43rd in 27.12, with Lisa SUTTON being the third counter in 27.59 (including 2 minute medium pack penalty). Other runners were Mary PLUMLEY 107th in 29.29, Ruth DOCTOR 127th in 31.24 and Sue SKIRROW 136th in 32.14. The result saw Alnwick finish 4th of 12 teams in the 2nd division. As a result of her performance Sarah CHRISTIE moves into the medium pack for the remaining fixtures.

Meanwhile 11 Harriers took part in the mens race beforehand. Dave KIRKLAND, making a rare appearance in an injury plagued season, was first home for Alnwick running himself into the fast pack followed by Bruce CROMBIE making his first run for the club. Our other counters were Geoff CAMPBELL, David LOWE, Danny RICHARDSON and Mark MILLER. Full mens results:

The mens team have jumped one place to 9th in Division 1 ahead of Sunderland Strollers.

The next NEHL fixture is hosted by Blaydon Harriers on Saturday 26th November.
