Sunday 7th May saw just the 3 Harriers take part in the latest of the 2017 Grand Prix events, the Sunderland Half Marathon. All 3 however performed very well with Paul GODDEN coming home in 166th place in a very good 1.35.51. Next home was Paul ROBINSON in a distance pb of 1.45.51, followed by Emma SHELL who also ran a 13.1 mile best of 1.53.30! In the 10k race John CUTHBERT was 157th in 44.30 and Laura McLEAN Jr was home in 552nd in 53.08.
Later on that day Andy STEPHENSON crossed the line at the Hardmoors 110 mile Ultra race! Andy started the previous morning and finished in 35.03.39. Commencing in Filey, competitors had a time limit of 36 hours to complete the 110 mile single stage trail race, following the stunning Cleveland Heritage coastline visiting the seaside resort of Scarborough, the old smuggling town of Robin Hood’s Bay, Dracula’s Whitby, Staithes, Runswick Bay and Saltburn, before passing through the beautiful Cleveland Hills and the North York Moors before finishing in the market town of Helmsley. Great work Andy, you’re amazing!!
The previous day 11 Harriers were in action on the 5k Druridge Bay Parkrun. First across the line for us just a few days after his decent showing at the Les Allcorn 10k was Jordan ROGERSON. Finally congratulations to Rachelle FALLOON who was back on the track at the Watford Open Track Meeting in Hertfordshire last Wednesday. Just a day after her impressive 2nd place and personal best at the Les Allcorn 10k Rachelle bolted home in the 1500 metres. She was 10 seconds clear of her nearest rival in 5.18.94 and beat 15 rivals. Top work Rachelle!
