Blyth Valley 10k/Brigham 10k/3 Village 10/Druridge Bay Parkrun/Bramhall Parkrun/Workington Parkrun/Keswick Parkrun

Many thanks to our pals at Blyth RC for hosting their annual superb Blyth Valley 10k on Sunday 8th April. On a flat course and in calm, warm conditions there were some top class performances from many of our runners with pbs galore and an age category win! First home for us was young Ben KELLY. In the first of the pbs Ben ran a brilliant 35.38 to finish 28th overall. Next home, knocking over half a minute off his previous 10k best, was Dominic HARRIS who edged into the top 50 in a superb 37.33. Shaun LAND was next, just ahead of the first of our 2 ladies who finished in the top 10 in the female race, Jo GASCOIGNE-OWENS. Jo clocked 38.19 to finish 7th female and 1st in the female 35 category! Jordan ROGERSON was next in a good 38.54, just ahead of Peter GREY who was 2nd in his age group. Allan FOGGON is fast improving, clocking 39.05, whilst Rachelle FALLOON ran a stormer to dip under 40 minutes and finish 10th lady! Well done to all the Harriers who took part.

Also that day our Cumbrian members Gay and Richard EASTOE took part in the Brigham 10k, near Cockermouth. The pair ran together with Gay finishing in 59.58 and Richard in exactly 1 hour.

Meanwhile Cris ATWELL was also in action in Cumbria at the 3 Village 10, a 10 mile road race starting and finishing at Wetheral. He completed the undulating 2 lap course in 1.21.06 to finish 90th of just over 200 runners.

The day before at Druridge Bay a glorious morning brought club members out in large numbers. Just like at Blyth there were some excellent results from our members, with Richard JOHNSON and Rachelle FALLOON both finishing 2nd of their respective genders. David HINDMARSH and Carole PAGE both won the aged 55 categories, whilst Ruth DOCTOR warmed up for the London Marathon in a few weeks with a brilliant 5k pb!
