Sunday 6th November witnessed the running of the fastest 10k by a male Harrier of 2016, thanks to Dan LENGs fantastic performance in the Leeds Abbey Dash. Dan clocked 34.18 to finish 168th in a huge classy field, in a race well known for its lightning quick times. In fact this time was the fastest 10k by a Harrier since Dave KIRKLANDs effort in the Tynedale 10k in 2013. Not only did Dan run a 10k best, but Mark DOUGLAS was cock-a-hoop with his run. For the first time Mark dipped under 40 minutes to finish in 39.55. Great running guys!
The same day over in the Lake District Richard and Gay EASTOE were in action in the Derwentwater 10. Results:

The previous day there was success for Jo GASCOIGNE-OWENS in the Wyre Forest Parkrun near Kidderminster. Jo was 2nd overall and 5 minutes ahead of the 2nd placed female runner in a very good 19.29. On her course debut Jo was the 3rd fastest female in this particular events history. Hubby Stu MORRIS also ran well to clock 20.45 to finish 9th overall.
Closer to home Phil HALL once again put in a very good run to finish 2nd of the 150 competitors at the Druridge Bay Parkrun. Jim LILLICO won the male 55 age category to finish 7th and David HINDMARSH was 11th. Our ladies had yet more success thanks to Carole PAGE who held off Annabel LILLICO, completing a one-two for us! Amazingly this was Caroles 16th win in the race!

Finally for the weekend Rachelle FALLOON took part in the Cuppers cross country race at St Neots, Cambs. This is an annual competition between the various colleges of Cambridge University, with the womens race taking place over a 3.4 mile course. Ex Jesus College student Rachelle ran as a “Guest” in her Harriers vest and finished 14th of the 24 females in 23 minutes dead.
